HIV Clinical Trials
Since 1995 Dr. Shalit has served as a local Investigator for numerous clinical trials of new treatments for HIV. Several hundred people with HIV have participated in these local studies. These noble volunteers have helped us learn more about how to treat HIV more simply and effectively.
We often have clinical trials open for people living with HIV. In general, participants receive either a new experimental medication, or an FDA-approved treatment. We especially encourage women and minorities to volunteer for these studies, as they are frequently underrepresented in HIV trials.
We also are participating in a trial for HIV prevention, and hope to have additional prevention trials in future for individuals at risk of becoming infected with HIV.
